NEW FREE DOWNLOAD - Composer Surface v2./0

To learn how to use Composer Surface, use Google Checkout to order our book "Composing Music with Composer Surface".
Composer Surface 2.0 and Composer Surface 1.0 run on Windows XP and Vista, and Composer Surface 2.04 has been developed for Windows 7.
Composer Surface 2.04 for Windows 7 is able to play (WAV audio) instruments and the Envelopes (synthesisers) separately, and can't at present play them at the same time. But you can of course play the Envelopes and Instruments together by opening more than one copy of Composer Surface 2.04. If you are using the RealTek audio chipset and you want to use the RealTek effects (like Auditorium echo) you have to open a copy of Composer Surface 2.04 and play Envelopes (only) and then switch off the editor on that copy. The Realtek audio effects will then become operative when you open another copy of Composer Surface 2.04 and play the instruments (or WAV audio).

The Composer Surface demo can be downloaded by clicking on the screen image below. You can open the downoaded demo by double clicking on the downloaded file (in its download folder). If you open more than one copy of Composer Surface it is possible to compose orchestral music, and you may play the compositions using keyboard operation - where all open copies of Composer Surface will synchonize automatically.

To add a note simply click on the note you want and then click on the stave and drag the note to the required pitch. To add a sharp, flat or natural click on the note you want and then click on the sharp, flat or natural, and then simply click on the stave, and drag the note to the desired pitch..

If you use Save As Separate Voices, you can play the resulting separated files, switch the editor off, and then use the left and right arrow keys to select the play button (on the top left of the screen) and then press Enter. N.B. Currently the separated files cannot accommodate notes with half their duration extended.
